Lambda Chi Alpha is one of the largest men’s general fraternities in North America. The youngest of the 20 national social fraternities, Lambda Chi Alpha has initiated over 270,000 members at more than 300 universities.
Nationally, Lambda Chi Alpha has abolished hazing and pledging with the Associate Member period. Locally, we have not only eliminated both of these concepts, but we continue to motivate other Greek chapters and their members to adopt similar policies. Our open motto is Vir Quisque Vir, directly translated meaning “Every man a man.” To us, every brother, associated member, and individual is created equally, and should be treated accordingly. Brotherhood is not established through hazing, tests, nor degrading activities, but rather should be fostered through a variety of genuine social interactions.
